🦷Root Canal Treatment (RCT/RCF)🦷

ENDODONTIC TREATMENT

Endodontic treatment is to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth and save the natural tooth. When one undergoes a root canal, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed with a crown.

Step 1: Revisit any X-ray that have previously been taken to prepare for the procedure.

Step 2: Dentist will create an opening in the top of the affected tooth. Then remove any infected pulp. "Pulp Extraction"

Step 3: Your dentist will then irrigate the area with a variety of solutions to wash away any remaining pulp. "Root Canal Treatment (Need multiple sessions)" To fill out the hole foe pulp, we need to do "Root Canal Filling (One time session)".

Step 4: Buildup core and place a crown in order to restore the tooth to proper function.

Step 5: Taking an impression for crown; Fee depends on the material

Step 6: After receiving a new crown from the lab, we will set it on your tooth.

Risks/precautions

Cracked teeth, blocked canals, curved roots, and gum disease are some complications that can make the treatment impossible.

During cleaning of the tooth, tools may break and lodge permanently in the tooth. Broken tools or perforation can cause root canal treatment to fail. This may lead to the need of furthermore complex treatment or referral to root canal specialists (Endodontist) or loss of the tooth.

During or after the root canal treatment, there are some complications that could arise. Includes: swelling, bleeding, pain, infection, numbness/tingling. These complications will go away with time.
