Denture Treatment
Full denture: For patients who have lost most or all of their teeth
Partial denture: For patients who have some of their natural teeth remaining
1. How are dentures made?
The impression, bite and shade are all given to our dental laboratory so dentures can be custom made for your mouth.
2. Adjustments
Dentures may need adjusting over time. For the first few weeks, a new denture may feel uncomfortable. However, your mouth will eventually become accustomed to wearing them. As you age, your mouth naturally changes. Maintain routine dental visits to ensure they are in optimal shape.
3. Getting used to your denture
Inserting and removing the dentures will likely require some practice. Your denture should fit into place with relative ease. You never want to force dentures into position by biting down. This could cause bending or breakage.
4. Care of your denture
Rinse the denture after every meal to remove plaque and food particles. Never use brushes with hard bristles or toothpastes, as they can damage the dentures. We encourage you to use denture cleanser tablets or dishwashing liquid to clean dentures. Make sure to keep them bathe in a denture cleaner or water overnight.
5. Signs your denture might need a reline
You feel pinching or rubbing that does not go away
Teeth are extracted or fall out
The denture becomes loose
